Andy’s in a podcast
Andy’s music project that is not us, Vomit Sauce, made an appearance on the StudioZeroSeven LifeChat podcast this past weekend. Check out Andy explaining why he hates all bars and hear some live renditions of VS classics.
is the oil slick weapon street legal? (or: a new album)
I’m totally into college basketball–especially the tournament–and am current watching a pretty good Marquette-Stanford game. But one side effect of watching thirty hours of basketball in a weekend is that you see a lot of commercials. I don’t really watch a super lot of TV, so I was pretty shocked and awed when I saw this Pontiac commercial.
“That’s awesome, ” I commented to the Official Girlfriend of the substars. “It’s like they’re making commercials specifically for me now.
Ha. Funny. I liked Spy Hunter. But only a few minutes later, they showed this one. Again, they’ve pretty much characterized my childhood in 30 seconds. But the personalized twist is a little creepy. I had to IM Andy to make sure they hadn’t pulled some sort of psychological trickery.
Anyway, back on topic: are you part of being target marketed-to? Are you still waiting for a product that has been extensively crafted to appeal to your focus-group peers? You should check out Buildings, the new album recorded by the substars in response to the RPM Challenge. It will fulfill you in a way that no car, or snack food, petty misdemeanor, or deodorant ever could.
We’ll have CDs at some shows this spring, so be sure to come on out and check us out. We’re totally into you.
(The announcer just referred to Marquette as “the Warriors”. Freaking awesome.)
an electrifying evening
It was a pretty good night of music at the Acadia on Thursday. It was diverse (and emerging, and musical, and organized!), yet consistently rocking. If you missed any of the artists, check out the show preview for MySpace info…they all come with my recommendation.
Also, for anyone who missed it or who wants to relive the joy of watching me get shocked by the mic every fifteen seconds or so, check these Acadia recordings out before I hide them away from the world forever:
